On October 23, our T\u016bt\u016b and Me Traveling Preschool<\/a> site in Pana\u02bbewa on Hawai\u02bbi Island welcomed more than 20 guests from the Pueblo of Jemez tribe and the Delegation of New Mexico\u2019s early learning and education partners. During their time with us, our visitors experienced how T\u016bt\u016b and Me creates a joyful, family-centered learning space for keiki (children) ages birth to five and their caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our guests joined keiki and \u02bbohana and observed a Family-Child Interaction Learning (FCIL) program in action. They watched our teaching team integrate early literacy, math, art, and science with Hawaiian values through playful, hands-on experiences that keep parents and caregivers deeply engaged in their keiki\u2019s learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe had a wonderful visit from the delegation yesterday. The hui visited our Pana\u02bbewa site and then returned to our Home Visiting office for further discussion,\u201d shared Amanda Ishigo, Project Director of T\u016bt\u016b and Me Traveling Preschool. \u201cIt was an honor to share our work and be inspired by the progressive ways they are supporting families in their own community.<\/p>\n\n\n

Visits like this deepen understanding of Hawai\u02bbi\u2019s families and the importance of community-based early learning opportunities. By observing how keiki and caregivers learn together, the Pueblo of Jemez Delegation gained valuable insight into how programs like T\u016bt\u016b and Me help build a strong foundation for school success, while honoring culture and \u02bbohana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
